Ok, well anticipated news from Nikon who has announced the 24.5 Mega Pixel D3X. This $8,000 monster will be delivered in the spring. It is no doubt is a great camera. The question remains, when you can buy a Canon 5D Mark II for $2700 or a Sony Alpha A900
for $2949, why would anyone want to pay and extra 5 grand?

Ira Block is doing the first real test and review of the 5D mark II. First as in first by a professional photographer who actually purchased the camera and isn't being paid by canon. I hope he will post later today.
yes I thought that was strange as well. The camera isn't coming out till spring so there might not be much else to report on

It is beautiful, but it's funny how the PDN article focusses on the public relations "fiasco" of the news being leaked rather than on the qualities of the camera itself - sort of reminds me of news coverage in other areas of our society as well.
