It has been a month since Uganda, South Sudan and the DRC launched joint military operations against the Lord's Resistance Army. After the leader Joseph Kony again refused to sign a peace accord with the Ugandan government.
The army offensive -condoned by the UN security council- was supposed to punish Kony and destroy his army. So far there is no evidence that the rebels are seriously damaged, but THEY are doing serious damage to the civilians of DRC (read here).
The photo above is from this summer of the road to an LRA massacre site (one of hundreds). 56 people were killed along this road in 2002. Now the LRA is killing its way through DRC, reportedly headed to Central African Republic...
