I thought it would be interesting to get a student's perspective on the f8 Workshop led by Mike Yamashita, Ira Block and David Alan Harvey. Thanks to Glenn Campbell for weighing in.

Band aids in Bangkok!

The opening riff, 3 national Geographic photographers, over 30 years experience each...thats around 100 years of pointing cameras at some of the most extreme, beautiful and confounding places on earth, only 3 other photographers have as much experience, 2 are semi retired and the other spends his time underwater.
Bangkok Pop 12 000 000 ....this time last week I was shooting pictures in Larimah, Pop 12 .
My Project was walking the streets of Bangkok trying to seek moments of individuality and silence amidst the crush of a Mega city.
Glenn you're a good photographer !
Walking around slack jawed and slightly overwhelmed!
Glenn you are taking great pictures! but Glenn? You can do this all day every day, what else have you got?
Ending up walking over 20 kilometers, this city never ends, there are pictures every where.

Ira says sometimes it's good to be lost, I'm lost!
Glenn, your next step will be harder and may take a little more time and thought!
The conversations with Dave, Ira and Mike all photographers of note and passion were the reason I was there , earwigging discussions that didn't concern me, on alert for that throwaway remark that was the jewel I was looking for.
Glenn you are a little too literal!
The critiques are useful even when they don't concern me, there's not a lot of shop talk in Darwin so I'm soaking it up.
Tech talk? DAH, "just put a band aid on your flash Man."
Ira whispers "The band aid thing? only do that once, it doesn't work for everybody all the time."
"Mike how do you photograph a journey that ended nearly a thousand years ago?"
" A lot of research and a lot of Luck! "
Photographers Luck..... the most misunderstood force of nature in the universe!
I've got make myself a luckier Photographer!
