Rumors about a new flagship canon 1Ds Mark IV have been floating for a while. The 32(?) megapixel monster would crush anything in its class. It is still just a rumor, but I do know that SOMETHING is up at Canon. Major Ad agencies in NY are clamoring for name photographers for an upcoming Canon spot. Could a groundbreaking camera be far behind?
Back in the real world new firmware is out for the 5D MK II (here). Included in the changes are 64 levels of manual sound adjustment, 30 (29.97) and 24 (23.976) fps frame rates, and a live histogram during shooting. Is this goodbye to Magic Lantern?

Unless I am missing something - you can't adjust the audio or even see the audio levels readout while in Live Mode or while recording - you have to go into the menu to adjust. And this isn't different but always bothered me that the video settings are like 5 levels of sub nav - why not make a whole video tab for all those settings? Feels more like a band-aid than a real upgrade - but we'll take it!
