Wow, go to Iran and have almost no internet access for a month and all kinds of stuff happens.
1) Laforet gives APhotoeditor an interview about the new Red Epic camera that ends by saying pro cinematographers are trying to take photo jobs (here). I said more or less the same thing in December (here). Vincent is making a much larger point about convergent technology, but more and more high end photo jobs are going to be frame grabs from video shoots. Bad news I know but it is true. And as the technology gets cheaper I think you will see magazine stories being frame grabs from TV shoots -remember you head it here first.
Am I rushing out to buy an Epic? Not today, tomorrow? maybe...
2) I appeared on ATC talking about using DSLR cameras to shoot video in a piece by Blake Farmer (here).
3) Short shorts have reappeared in the south.
