Chris Tangey from Alice Springs film and television captured this outrageous fire storm outside Alice Springs last week. I was a fireman for almost 20 years and only saw this once or twice at really huge building fires. The fire vortex can be so powerful that it will lift burning debris high into the air and scatter it far and wide.
